Abstract


Sudanese Students’ Willingness to Communicate in Turkısh Who Learning Turkish As A Foreign Language
Willingness to communicate is an individual's tendency to initiate or prevent communication with others. It is also the case of whether individuals are willing to communicate. Willingness to communicate in a foreign language is related to introversion, self-esteem, communication competence, anxiety, motivation and cultural differences. In this study, Sudanese students’ willingness to communicate in Turkish and language levels who learning Turkish as a foreign language were examined in terms of variables such as experience of living in Turkey and whether or not to attend the language course. The research principles of quantitative research method were followed and descriptive research type was used in the study. The data were collected from students who are enrolled in University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences and learning Turkish as a foreign language. The study group selected by purposeful sampling method consists of males. There were 40 individuals in the research group. Willingness to communicate scale in Turkish was used to collect data. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation and chi-square techniques were used in the analysis of the data. According to the findings of the study, it was seen that the Sudanese students' willingness to communicate in Turkish was generally high. There were no items in the range of 1.0-2.3, which corresponded to a low level. In addition, it was determined no statistically significant difference in terms of variables such as language level, experience of living in Turkey, and whether or not to attend the language course on Sudanese students' willingness to communicate in Turkish.
