Abstract


Looking At The Ziyai Diwan of Mostar From The Window of Social Life
Ottoman poetry has a long, rooted and unique intellection of art. Generally, Ottoman poetry, which has been subjected to unfair criticism many times in the way of being far from the social life and being a developed literature only around the palace, contrary to these criticism, reflected the social and daily life of Ottoman society in many literary genres. Most of the Ottoman poets conceived the events that happened in their environment with different imagination and images successfully used these imaginations and images in their poems. One of these poets is Ziyai Efendi of Mostar, who was one of the important figures of the Balkans Geography in the 16th century. Ziyai Efendi of Mostar did not remain indifferent to the social and daily life that existed in his environment and depicted many traditions, customs, beliefs, lifestyles and plays of the Ottoman society along with various imaginations and images in his poems. This study deals with the poems of Ziyai Efendi in the context of social and daily life and how the social life of Ottoman society is reflected in his poems.
