Abstract

On The Some Static Words Passed in Couplets
The classical Turkish poetry are the cultural treasures loaded with deep meanings. Beyond the meanings that awaken in the mind, the couplets were first woven with words and meanings layers that evoke pleasure and admiration. It is necessary to think about couplets in order to capture the deep meanings, cultural elements and language richness in couplets. While reading the texts of classical Turkish poetry, it is seen that the concepts and phrases which are not curious about the subject but which are not included in the sources or are not explained sufficiently in the texts. When these concepts and phrases are encountered in other texts, the question marks start to form in the mind. On the other hand, the hints of the concepts and phrases increase as the samples of the text and the concepts pass. Thus, in the mind, the remarks that appear in the mind are more or less clear. In this study, fourteen static words and one notion that we encountered in couplets but were not included in the sources or not explained enough were examined. The explanations of the couplet samples are explained while making explanations. Static words include: begligi olmak, devlet külahı, feleğe vermemek, ferdâya salmak, fülân ibn-i falân, hâtır-ı cem, karşu varmak, kıble hakkı, küp (küp) düşmek, ma’zûl börki, meydana çekmek, mûy-ı siyâh agarmak, pîr olası, sohbet bâkî, yaykara. Static words used in the sample couplets are translated and clarified into context. Thus, it is aimed to present the static words.
