Abstract

Natural Turkish Beliefs: The Case of Erzurum Kazancı
Turkish folk culture and folklore have taken various features together with their geography and climate. The first experiences of culture are explained by the materials that provide a breakdown of a unity that is intertwined with nature. The selected animal species, which are often found on mountains, in rivers, on trees and animal populations, which enable us to grasp, simulate or depict the probable and real state of the world, are real objects that exist in nature. The intensity and diversity of the interrelations of these objects occupied quite a metaphorical sense. The appearing natural elements represent the realm of the real world, and as a result of the meanings attribute to the other world has assumed an eternal balance. In the epistemological context, the idea representing the subject and the object, and the idea that the appearance takes shape, should be considered as the whole of the relics. In our paper, titled “Natural Turkish Beliefs: The Case of Erzurum Kazanci”, the traces of the belief of the past in this region and the shamanistic elements experienced in the history have been explained with their visuals as a living asset.
