Abstract


Habibi’s Mucizatu’n-Nebi Mesnevi
Mucizatü’n-Nebi which is is a religious narrative describing the content of Prophet Muhammad’s miracles is located between the 122a-127b leaves of the manuscript that registered with the inventory number of 4042 in the Süleymaniye Library Department of Manuscript Grants. The work that has the title of “Haza Hikayet-i Padişah-ı Sana Mucizatü’n-Nebi (A.S)” written in nesih is a short mesnevi consisting of 223 couplets. It was written in Failatün/Failatün/Failün mold of aruz by a poet with the literary name of Habibi. In this mesnevi which the curiosity factor is in the foreground, it is told that the Sana’s sultan believes in his dream, sends two chests of gifts to Prophet Muhammad with his son Abul-Mehcen, Abul-Mehcen looses his life by the slander of hypocrites, he gets alive with the miracle of Prophet Muhammad and becomes Muslim. The work that reflects the religious excitement, emotions and thoughts has been written in plain language in order to spread the religion of Islam to the masses. The work which is a type of mesnevi for folk in terms of language, style and shape is also a classic story woven with extraordinary. Some motifs located in the plot of the work remind Dede Korkut Stories. The motifs such as Gabriel’s descending to earth and reporting the commandments of the God to the Prophet, requesting life from companions for Abul-Mehcen, Ali’s granting the rest of his life to him, after this generosity liked by the God granting sixty years life to Abul-Mehcen from the power of God are similar to the Story of Crazy Dumrul. In this article, Habibi’s mesnevi called Mucizatü’n-Nebi is examined and transferred to transcriptions.
