Abstract
-(I)k Affıx and Categories Constituted By -(I)k in Turkish
-(I)k added to verb base is one of the affixes which constitutes diffirent categories in terms of meaning and structure in Turkish. Although it has been dwelled upon these categories constituted by -(I)k with diffirent points in some studies about local languages, it hasn’t been touched on this subject hardly ever in most of sources on Turkish grammar and -(I)k affix has been considered as a derivational affix in these sources. This study has been prepared basing on standart Turkish besides taking samples of local languages into consideration and in the study, it has been stated that -(I)k affix isn’t always a derivational affix and it has been focused on three different categories about using of this affix. In this context, usage examples of this affix which can be evaluated in the categories of derivational affix, participle and mode have been examined. In addition, it has been touched on other categories correlated with this affix in some way and this mattter how they can be evaluated within the context of the subject. Thus, it has been put forward that some criterias are suggested to be considered about the main usage fields and boundaries of the -(I)k affix when it is examined in Turkish.
