Abstract


From Tale to Mesnevi the Story of Cariye Teveddüd
A thousand and one nights originate from Middle East which has been translated into many languages and widespread to the four corners of the earth is read voluntarily in Turkish cultural geography. Not only read but also it has a dominant influence domain for Turkish literature. Cariye Teveddüd story is one of the most liked example of this tales’ corpus which is constructed by a cadre tales in which there are many secondary tales. This story written in prose is translated into Turkish by adapting to mesnevi form. In this article we will examine an example of this story which is the translated by Malatyalı İsmail about whom we have no information identical by giving indications for the story. We planned to give the text of the story at the end of the article but because the boundary of the article we decided to give the text by a ulterior article.
